God supernaturally gave me a heart for women in the fall of 1996 while I was on a women-only retreat. There was no real model available at that time for women’s ministry so there was much prayer and searching as God began to unfold the Women of Worth. The first retreat was in the fall 0f 1997 with about 65 women. The last conference I had was in February 2005. I thought I had laid the ministry down for the final time.
In July 2011, the Lord spoke loud and clear, “You will not strive for this conference, you will surrender to the call I have on your life. This call is not for you to help someone else have a ministry, but for you to do it. It doesn’t matter if there are 5 or 5000 women that attend. Surrender….There are ladies in waiting.” Thus, Generations 2012 was birthed.
I have invited some speakers who have influenced me through the years and then I have invited some of the younger generation of women speakers to pour into your lives. In 2Kings 2:9, Elijah said to Elisha, “tell me, what can I do for you before I am taken from you?’ “Let me inherit a double portion of your spirit.” Elisha replied. My prayer is that this conference will be an event that will be life-changing and we will not leave that place with out a double portion of what God has for us.
Generations 2012 is built on four pillars–The Presence of God –The Power of God–The Practical things of God–Our Purpose in God. All of these make up the inheritance of what we want to give to the next generation.
I confess that God truly got my attention in a conference quite a few years ago and that is one of the reasons I love conferences so much. That conference was the first time that I had really experienced the Glory of God in a corporate setting. I was never to be the same again.
